Terms of Service
Last updated: August 19, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Ontora, operated by Ontora Knowledge Corp. (“Ontora,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using Ontora, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use Ontora.
We may update these Terms over time. If we make a material change, we’ll let you know. Continuing to use Ontora after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
1. Who can use Ontora
You must be 18 or older to create an Ontora account or join the beta. Ontora is not currently available to anyone under 18, and we verify age at signup. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will suspend or remove it.
You must provide accurate information when you sign up, keep your account credentials secure, and take responsibility for activity that happens under your account.
2. Your account
Each person gets one Ontora Learn account. Your account and the learning data in it belong to you. We don’t sell your personal data, and we don’t show ads in Ontora.
You may close your account at any time. When you do, we handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
3. The beta
Ontora is currently in beta. That means a few things:
- Access may require an invite code.
- Features may change, break, or be added and removed as we build.
- Some things won’t work perfectly yet, and content generated by our systems may occasionally be incomplete or inaccurate. We work hard to verify what we teach, but you should use judgment, especially for anything high-stakes like medical, legal, financial, or safety decisions.
We provide Ontora during beta “as is,” without warranties. We’ll do our best, but we can’t promise uninterrupted or error-free service while we build.
4. What you can and can’t do
You may use Ontora to learn, for yourself, for lawful purposes.
You may not:
- Use Ontora to break the law or harm others.
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that aren’t yours.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or interfere with Ontora’s systems.
- Use automated tools to abuse the service or get around limits.
- Upload content you don’t have the right to upload, or that is illegal, harmful, or infringing.
- Resell or redistribute Ontora’s content or access without our permission.
We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these rules.
5. Your content
When you use Ontora, you may create or upload content such as notes, materials you study from, questions, answers, and the record of your learning. You keep ownership of your content.
You grant us permission to store and process your content as needed to run Ontora and provide the service to you. For example, we use it to teach you, measure your understanding, and show you your knowledge over time. We describe how we handle your data in the Privacy Policy.
You’re responsible for the content you upload, including having the rights to use materials you bring into Study Mode or similar features.
6. Ontora’s content and intellectual property
Ontora, including its software, design, brand, and the knowledge systems we build, belongs to Ontora Knowledge Corp. and is protected by law. These Terms don’t give you ownership of Ontora itself, only the right to use it under these Terms.
Educational content we generate for you is yours to learn from and use for your own purposes. You may not repackage or resell Ontora’s content or systems.
7. Payment and plans
Ontora offers a free plan and a paid plan (Pro). Paid plan pricing and terms are shown at the point of purchase. During beta, plans and pricing may change, and we’ll tell you before a change affects you.
If you buy a paid plan, you authorize us, through our payment processor, to charge you the stated amount. You can cancel a paid plan at any time. Cancellation stops future charges and takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
8. Ending your access
You can stop using Ontora and close your account anytime.
We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we need to protect Ontora or its users. If we end your access without cause, we’ll handle your data per the Privacy Policy.
9. AI-Powered Service
Ontora is an AI-powered learning platform. Your tutor and the learning content are generated with the help of artificial intelligence. AI can make mistakes and may produce information that is inaccurate or incomplete. Always verify important information independently. Ontora is a learning aid and does not replace professional, medical, legal, financial, or academic advice.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Ontora is provided “as is,” and Ontora Knowledge Corp. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
Ontora is a learning tool. It does not provide professional advice, and you shouldn’t rely on it as a substitute for a qualified professional in medical, legal, financial, or other specialized matters.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the courts located in Georgia, unless the law requires otherwise.
